Oklahoma City is home to so many creative music industry friends! Last week I got together with musician/producer Austin Cannon for a modern and stylist promo shoot.

I had a great time spending the day with Silverstein last week to shoot some promo photos around OKC. They play such a fun live show- definitely catch them on this tour if you get the chance!

Every year I struggle to come up with a birthday activity that is unique and enjoyable for all involved. This year, it just so happened that a band I LOVE (The Burning Hotels) was playing a rare show the weekend right before my birthday. The only problem is that the band and show were Fort Worth. Solution? Birthday road trip with a handful of my closest friends! I decided to take my camera along (of course) for some freestyle, candid shots with a documentary flavor. P.S. My camera was occasionally commandeered by my sister Kathryn, and who knows who else.
Only one photo of the actual show is included, as The Wild Rooster was very dark, but we had a great time hanging out and listening!
We had no idea who this guy was.
At our “super-high-end motel” later that night and the next morning…
Out to brunch (the most important meal of the day) at The Bottom.
Nice day to climb in a tree. With a sign posted right next to it that clearly read, “For your safety, do not climb in tree.” But what do they know.
Then a few of us continued on to the Stockyards and caught the… cattle run?

I realize that these images barely scratch the surface of the “steampunk” look, but I’ve always been drawn by this style and really wanted to do a steampunk-inspired shoot. I have to give props to Catie Bartlett for shooting these with me! We had so much fun with the dark and whimsical theme, in a perfect, woodsy location, on a nice day in December.
