Tour just ended a few days ago, so this is my final installment of the Lovetap Tour photo journal! It flew by. Love to look back and see how far this band has come- 20 out of 26 shows sold out!
Since my last post, we’ve covered Kansas City, Denver, SLC, Portland, Santa Ana, & the motherland LA! (Seattle and San Fran as well, but I flew home to shoot a few weddings that weekend.) Hunter Hunted joined up and we inherited some more girls on tour! They are fab- check them out. We had some really rad, huge venues in there. And SoCal is always a pleasure of course, finishing it off at the El Rey!
#ALMfancam went SO well! Stay tuned for a blog post dedicated to some of my favorite shots from your disposable cameras over the last couple of months! And if you don’t already, follow me on IG, Twitter, and Snapchat (@annaleemedia) for continuing photo updates & BTS!

I’m a week (6 shows) into my month on tour with Smallpools! By now touring with these buds (plus a few new members to the crew) is as familiar as any other job I’ve held, which is the best feeling. The next 3 weeks are going to fly by!
So far it’s been spent exclusively in the Eastern Midwest hitting Pittsburgh, Philly, Columbus, Cinci, Richmond, and Princeton. (I was also able to make it to the Tulsa show right at the beginning of tour.) My favorite venue during leg one has been Union Transfer- such a beautiful room. And playing for Princeton University was a very interesting and hospitable experience!
I’d met Vinyl Theatre previously on the Magic Man tour, so it’s great to get to hit the road with them this time! Their set has killer energy every night and gets everyone super hyped. I also made some new friends in Grizfolk- super sweet guys with beautiful music!
Had a blast with Smallpools at SXSW this year- hope you got a chance to catch them if you were there! The fest kept them busy with showcases and interviews every single day. Here’s some shots from the week!
And check back for my next post featuring the rest of the rad SXSW bands I had the pleasure to hear/shoot!
‘LOVETAP!‘ is out today! These boys and their music mean the world to me, and I’m so thankful to have worked with them for the past year. In December we set out to do a photo shoot in the SoCal desert which later became artwork for the new album. This photo story includes never before seen promo shots, b-roll and outtakes from that day- digital and film.
Finally posting Part 2 of Smallpools tour this summer supporting Neon Trees. This set starts at Chipotle’s Cultivate Fest in San Francisco and ending in my home state at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, OK. Check out their upcoming headline tour dates here!
These photos make up Part 1 of the time I spent with Smallpools on tour this summer supporting Neon Trees. The photos start in Nashville, go through much of the Midwest and Southeast US, ending in Tampa. Stay tuned for Part 2, including West Coast dates! Check out Smallpools latest single below.
See photos from their support tour with Grouplove here, as well as tour glimpses on my Instagram!
Check out the tour highlight video I did for Smallpools this summer and come see them on tour this fall! More photos to come, but you can see some of them in this post.
This summer I’ve had the opportunity to go out on tour with a really amazing group of people, who are as fun as their music. Smallpools is Sean Scanlon (vocals/keys), Mike Kamerman (guitar), Joseph Intile (bass), and Beau Kuther (drums). These guys are SO talented and have blown everyone away with their rapid success and high energy live show. It was a privilege to document every day life with them on stage and on the road. I also had a blast getting to know the crew that helped make everything possible- Kelsey Kuther (guitar tech), James Wooten (TM & FOH), and Sandor Schlaffer (merch manager). So proud of everything I’ve witnessed them accomplish and to call the whole crew friends!
These photos are just a fraction of what I covered of Smallpools on Grouplove’s Spreading Rumors US Tour. They span shows from Pomona, Tempe, Tucson, Dallas Edge Fest, OKC, and a LOT of time in the Sprinter… And there is so much more to come! I will be following up with more posts from the subsequent run with Neon Trees. Also check out my Instagram for sneak peeks from tour!
Smallpools is gearing up to release a full length album, but give their amazing first single “Dreaming” a listen while you check out this post!
Me with the guys! (Most of) the whole tour crew. (Thanks for the photo Catie!)
The first couple photos were behind the scenes of an interview with the band from Fratzke & Fratzke at the Pomona show- check the video out below!
