February 16-17th, 2013

Every year I struggle to come up with a birthday activity that is unique and enjoyable for all involved. This year, it just so happened that a band I LOVE (The Burning Hotels) was playing a rare show the weekend right before my birthday. The only problem is that the band and show were Fort Worth. Solution? Birthday road trip with a handful of my closest friends! I decided to take my camera along (of course) for some freestyle, candid shots with a documentary flavor. P.S. My camera was occasionally commandeered by my sister Kathryn, and who knows who else.

Only one photo of the actual show is included, as The Wild Rooster was very dark, but we had a great time hanging out and listening!

Nice day to climb in a tree. With a sign posted right next to it that clearly read, “For your safety, do not climb in tree.” But what do they know.

Then a few of us continued on to the Stockyards and caught the… cattle run?

This year on Thanksgiving, I decided to capture the day with a retro, documentary style. Very candid and unposed. An exact representation of the way this day passes every year at the Lee house, with all of our family who still live in driving distance. Homemade food, football on TV, and three little nephews with more energy than everyone else combined (after Thanksgiving lunch) playing in the leaves.

Meredith & Ryan are married! This wedding was full of so many special moments that made for great photos! I was very blessed to be a part of this day for my former roommate and good friend. She was so gorgeous, her new husband is super sweet, and the bridal party was a blast. Their ceremony and cake reception took place at Crown Heights Christian Church in Oklahoma City, followed by a dinner reception at the Community Center in downtown Edmond. Congrats you two!

I have many talented friends for whom I often have the opportunity to second shoot weddings. These are some of my favorite shots from a wedding for which I assisted the talented Hayley Michel Photography! Melissa and Travis got married at the beautiful Civic Center’s Hall of Mirrors in downtown Oklahoma City. They also braved the heat for a bridal party session in the Myriad Gardens. During the reception, they started with the traditional slow dance before breaking out into a funny and animated choreographed dance.

After almost 7 years together, Rachel and Kevin are married! Their wedding was held at FCC Edmond, with a reception at the MAC in Mitch Park.
