Norman, OK

Norman Music Festival is one of my FAVORITE local events of the year! So many of the best acts in Oklahoma, and good times with the natives. The festival is set up across several stages hosted by bars, restaurants, venues, and more in downtown Norman. It showcases the “who’s who” of local bands, as well as importing some national acts to headline. Here are a few of the acts that I caught.

And a few shots from around the festival…

This is Alix from PCO- one of my Senior Reps this year! I love freckles! And so does my camera… She was so much fun to work with, and really easy to photograph. If you know Alix, she can set you up with a deal on your Senior photo shoot for this coming year!

Say hello to Nicole- one of my Senior Reps! Total knockout right? If you’re a Junior at PCN, keep an eye out for her- she can hook you up with a deal on your Senior photo shoot for this coming year!

Paperscissor is a post punk band that has recently emerged here in Oklahoma City. They are lead by a good friend and frontman, Evan Crowley. I’ve known Evan for a long time now and have had the pleasure of shooting promos and live shows for various projects that he has been a part of. Music shoots are hands-down my favorite form of photography! You should expect to see more photos of them in the future, as the final concept is in the works. These are a first take on the bands desire for a professional, yet not-so-clean-cut look. For this gem of a location, we had to look no further than the garage! I also grabbed a candid photo at their practice session.

Paperscissor is:
Evan Crowley – Vocals, Keys
Cameron Mintz – Guitar
Caleb Tullis – Guitar
Josiah Tullis – Bass
Clayton Stroup – Drums

I’m so excited about this destination engagement shoot that I got to do for a friend in NYC! Such a unique opportunity! They’re a completely photogenic couple, even with Ryan battling a cold at the time! We hit Central Park, the Meat Packing District, and DUMBO- where had a great view of the Manhattan skyline, right after the sun went down. We were even able to access the rooftop of Meredith’s building- it made for a great panoramic shot!

Dallas is an easy weekend getaway destination for us here in Oklahoma City. I make frequent trips there, whether for a concert, a visit to IKEA, or just for fun! My best friend Cassie and I drove down recently and attended a red dirt music festival.

On the way to the festival, we found a awesome field that we couldn’t pass up the chance to shoot in. The sun was just setting and gave us great light. (The photos of me were taken by Cassie.)
