BEST OF 38
Welcome to my annual “Best Of” blog post series! If you’re new here, each year I select my personal favorite 100 photos, taken since my last birthday.
I’m never not cramming this in until the last minute, and while it’s quite a big project, it’s always a special time of reflection on just how much happens in a year! Especially through the eyes of my photo work.
38 was yet another year of traveling the world with Coldplay on tour (to Asia, back to North America, and then the UK), and punctuated with an extremely exciting personal highlight: my debut music photography exhibit! “Confetti Diaries: A Photographic Journey Around the World with Coldplay” showed in London during our epic two-week residency at Wembley Stadium. The photo exhibit was held in Central London – inside Lightroom Gallery UK, as well as outdoors – sprawling out across a central pedestrian square near King’s Cross Station. It was absolutely surreal to walk through a major public area and be surrounded with massive prints of the work I’ve been most proud of in my career. The exhibit was a special intersection of hometown concerts, tons of fans, and a meaningful way to bookmark the end of this chapter of the tour. It was a true labor of love, and a once in a lifetime experience, to show my printed work to viewers would appreciate it most. I also gave a talk on my work with the tour at Lightroom Gallery, which was intimidating, but so fun!
Speaking of photography talks, my career goal of expanding into education saw it’s first big step with my debut Live Music Photography Workshop in Los Angeles! It was such a fun, challenging, rewarding experience to put together. Pairing the workshop with live photography practice for the attendees at a Smallpools show (on their final tour!), was such a cool, full-circle moment. I can’t wait to offer more events in multiple cities around the world. Stay tuned for that!
I’m also honored to have received my 2nd iHeart Awards nomination for Favorite Tour Photographer, based on my work with Coldplay. It’s a publicly voted category, and you can vote every day. It would mean the world!

Between legs of tour, I made a lot of new work, did some other travel gigs (including my first time at The Sphere in Vegas, and my third time at When We Were Young Festival), and spent time dreaming up what’s next.
On a personal level, I met my amazing partner this year, and we’ve been so fortunate to travel all over the world together in such a short amount of time. One of the best parts of this career is being able to weave personal travel into the job. In addition to various US cities, we spent time in Seoul and London together, and rode across Switzerland on the Glacier Express Train – a personal bucket list item of mine.
This year, while Coldplay is off of the road, I’m looking forward to hoping on some different tours with new artists and existing friends, hosting more workshops, getting into the studio for more editorial and portrait work, and an overall opportunity to explore and revisit other creative outlets.
