WHERE DO I BUY A DISPOSABLE CAMERA?
Do disposable cameras even still exist? Yes! You can get the at most major drug stores, as well as Walmart, Target, Amazon, etc. If your local store doesn’t carry them, check their website. Just make sure to allow enough time for it to arrive in the mail before your show!
You can also get specialty disposable cameras at places like Lomography.
IS THERE A CUT-OFF TIME?
Yes, the winning camera must be received by 4:00pm on the day of the show. This ensures that I will have enough time in the day to capture some fun, backstage magic for you!
I’M IN LINE AND I TWEETED MY SELFIE TO YOU, NOW WHAT?
Were you the first in line with a camera? Did you take a selfie (with your phone) of you holding your disposable camera and tweet it to me? If you’ve double checked that you followed all the directions, now it’s just time to wait! Rest assured that your tweet (with proper photo and hashtag) let’s me know who was first. As soon as I’m able to check the notifications, I will respond and confirm a winner. Remember- depending on how early you arrive at the venue, the band and I might not be at the venue yet ourselves. Once I’ve confirmed and notified the winner on Twitter, I’ll meet you in line to grab your camera.
I WON! WHAT HAPPENS WITH MY CAMERA?
Woo! Enjoy the show! The camera will stay with me until the entire show is over. We’ll decide on a time and place within the venue (usually at the stage barrier or at merch) to meet and return your camera.
WHERE CAN I GET MY CAMERA DEVELOPED?
Now that you have a camera full of mysterious, exclusive photos from the show, it’s time to get them developed! (The wait has never felt so painful.) Depending where you live, you can get photos developed same day, or you may have to wait a week of more. If there’s no business near you that can develop film, you can always mail it in to an online based service – a quick Google search will offer some options.
*IMPORTANT* – No matter where you get your film developed, make sure that you order digital scans. Digital scans (jpgs) will allow you to share them on your socials, as well as email them to me at anna@annaleemedia.com. I love to see how they turned out, and the band does too! Many places offer convenient download links to your photos, while others may only offer CDs or USBs. Some people choose to get physical prints for fun, in addition to digital.
HOW DO I SHARE MY PHOTOS?
When you post your prize photos, make sure to tag me (@annaleemedia) the bands in the photos, and use the hashtag #ALMFanCam! Please also email them to me at anna@annaleemedia.com. Some people also get physical prints and share photos of them displayed in a creative way.
See the answer above about getting digital scans with your film developing. This is an important step to make sure that you have jpegs you can post and share online.
