February 16-17th, 2013

Every year I struggle to come up with a birthday activity that is unique and enjoyable for all involved. This year, it just so happened that a band I LOVE (The Burning Hotels) was playing a rare show the weekend right before my birthday. The only problem is that the band and show were Fort Worth. Solution? Birthday road trip with a handful of my closest friends! I decided to take my camera along (of course) for some freestyle, candid shots with a documentary flavor. P.S. My camera was occasionally commandeered by my sister Kathryn, and who knows who else.

Only one photo of the actual show is included, as The Wild Rooster was very dark, but we had a great time hanging out and listening!

We had no idea who this guy was.

At our “super-high-end motel” later that night and the next morning…

Out to brunch (the most important meal of the day) at The Bottom.

Nice day to climb in a tree. With a sign posted right next to it that clearly read, “For your safety, do not climb in tree.” But what do they know.

Then a few of us continued on to the Stockyards and caught the… cattle run?

Exploring afterwards.

I was so blessed to play a part in Caleb and Melissa’s big day. Caleb has been a good friend since I was a freshman at UCO, and I have gotten to know and love Melissa over the past couple years. They are so great together, and we were presented with such solid evidence of this throughout their whole wedding.

They got married at the beautiful Dresser Mansion in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

While in Tulsa for Melissa’s bridal shoot, I got a chance to hang out with my good friends Cassie and Alyce! Of course, since I had all my gear, we did a just for fun shoot around downtown Tulsa. Melissa and Caleb even stopped by at the end for a few pics. I love getting a chance to explore new locations for pictures, and Tulsa has some good ones! Here are some faves from the day (Cassie took the ones of me):

Oh- and this is Alyce’s cat, Tigger.
